Support Services
Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to implement them. We evaluate our success in this field by gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and using that information to measure shifts and changes from our baseline measurements.
Mentor
I AM DIVINE focus on what the youth want for their future, and what they must start to do now to bring this about. We require them to make three concurrent short-term promises for self-improvement in areas such as school performance, parental relations, and reduction of self-defeating behavior. We pair each Divine youth with a trained adult volunteer we call a Divine Partner. Drawn from throughout the community, the Divine Partner becomes the "wall" around the youth's personal promises. These will be reviewed periodically, and renewed or revised over the one-year course of the program. Always before them is the question "What are you doing to keep your promises?"
Substance Abuse Counseling
I AM DIVINE offers a continuum of addiction treatment services including evaluation services (alcohol and drug and clinical evaluations), an outpatient program, an intensive outpatient program, individual counseling, and random urine drug screens. Our programs are flexible and unique to each individual. Referrals to trained experienced therapists that provide expert substance abuse treatment. The first step to help yourself or a loved one is to schedule an alcohol and/or drug evaluation with one of our I AM DIVINE counselors.
Domestic Violence Counseling
Domestic violence can take many forms. It is not only physical abuse. Domestic violence can be emotional, verbal, sexual, economic, spiritual and psychological. It can and does happen to all kinds of people, regardless of their age, gender, income, education or ethnicity. I AM DIVINE believes that an analysis of the interconnection of oppressions is critical to ending violence against women and girls. This belief informs our practice of building accountability among men and with communities. The knowledge, tools and resources developed by DIVINE are key in engaging and mobilizing men as catalysts for change, and building collaborative relationships with anti-violence programs and other social justice organizations
Family Services
I AM DIVINE provided Families Services in which an allegation of child neglect and/or abuse has been validated, and the family is thought to need more long term services. In some limited situations, families can voluntarily elect to participate in these services when Child Abuse or Neglect has not been validated Our services take many different forms depending on the strengths and needs of the family, but our overarching goal is to help parents enhance skills and resolve problems to promote optimal child development.
Support Groups
I AM DIVINE support groups are offered as a space where individuals can come together to share their stories, experiences, and lives in a way that helps reduce isolation and loneliness. Oftentimes, we think we are struggling alone, but support groups help us see that there are others who may dealing with similar situations and who in turn can help us get better. We now offer online support groups, discussion boards, blogs, and online communities as additional ways to connect with others in similar situations.
Service
I AM DIVINE offer human service assistants, advocates, caseworkers and family support workers that help provide clients with family support, identifying and obtaining benefits, social and community service programs, and assisting social workers resolve or prevent problems related to abusive behavior.
